Experiencing the death of a close friend, family member, or somebody in our community, can take a real toll on our mental health.

Grief and bereavement are a really tough experience to go through and it is different journey for everyone. It is totally natural to feel sad, shocked, depressed, worried, anxious, numb, or angry. Everybody has different reactions, and people often find they move through different phases of grief as time goes on – it is useful to think of grief as an emotional process, not an one-off reaction. Grief may affect how you feel physically, mentally and socially, and it is really important to find ways to cope that work for you.
It can sometimes be hard to speak to the people around you about bereavement. It also isn’t your fault if other people find it hard to talk about bereavement and grief – some people find it a difficult topic, but this isn’t a reflection on you. If you are struggling, then please know you are not alone, and you have come to the right place by visiting this website.
