Many thanks to the staff and students at Truro College for a fabulous Hollywood Greats black tie Ball that raised awareness and an amazing £850 ! Many thanks also to the Cornwall Cricket Board who offered free use of the amazing marquee within the Gannell Building.
Professional cookery students at Truro and Penwith College organised and catered for over 130 people, offering canapés and Prosecco to guests as they arrived Tables were decorated by the students in a silver theme with all the tables named after Hollywood Greats and a dinner of oven baked chicken breast with roasted root vegetables in a Cornish rattler and apple jus was followed by a chocolate brownie with a strawberry and balsamic coulis.
Music was performed throughout the meal which was then followed by a band, disco and dancing. Students organised fundraising by selling tickets, running raffles and taking donations throughout the evening.
Nikki Dixon, Deputy Team leader who oversaw the evening commented:
“The food and service was excellent, the students worked tirelessly throughout the evening to ensure that it was a success. This event provided a fantastic opportunity for the students and I was very proud of their professionalism throughout the evening.

Also thanks to Roddas, the Alverton Manor Hotel, St Austell Brewery, Steins & the Seafood School, Cornico Coffee, West Country Fruit Sales, Sams in the City and No 1King Street for their support with prizes and to Truro and Penwith College staff and students for making sure the event went extremely well”
